| Project Description: | This project constitutes the FY 2000 ITS Integration Program earmark for Charlotte, North Carolina. This project's objective is to improve information sharing among key transportation management facilities in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region. The NCDOT Metrolina Transportation Management Center, the Charlotte DOT (CDOT) Signal Traffic Operations Center, and the CDOT Transit Center will be interconnected. In addition, the US 74 High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) System and the US 29 Reversible Lane System will be connected to the Metrolina TMC. The final portion of this project will interconnect the Tyvola Road Reversible Lane System to the CDOT Signal System Traffic Operations Center. This integration project will connect various systems to city and state traffic operations centers and lay the basis for increased cooperation between the NCDOT and the City of Charlotte. | |
