Several key concepts to be implemented through the ITMS project include: - Development and implementation of an integrated network to exchange data and video feeds, and improvement of cross-jurisdictional response capabilities. - Providing the foundation for inter-agency coordination and operation with Caltrans/CHP TMC and MTC TravInfo. The TMC and TravInfo play an important role in empowering the San Francisco Bay Area region with the most advanced transportation management tools to optimize use of transportation facilities in the region. - Providing the necessary functional requirements for other local/regional jurisdictions to interface their ITS elements with those of San Francisco. |
