| Project Description: | Under this project, various new technologies were evaluated for their potential benefit to transit and studies were performed to support and facilitate the application of the technologies to public transportation. Studies performed addressed transit system architecture requirements, human factors issues, frequency spectrum requirements and allocations, multi-modal fare/toll payment smart cards, automatic vehicle monitoring and management system implementations, and map and spatial database requirements. This technical support included research and technical assistance to transit authorities implementing APTS technologies. | |
